FAQ
1) What is SMUX about?
SMUX consists of 6 teams, Diving, Kayaking, Biking, Skating, Trekking, Xseed (Xtreme sports).
2) What can I expect during SMUX camp? Can I still sign up if i have no experience in the above activities?
During SMUX Camp, you'll be exposed to activities from all the 6 teams within smux! You'll be given a chance to try diving, wockey, skating, kayaking and more~ Don't be afraid to sign up just becuase you dont have prior experience in these sports :) There'll be instructors to guide you along the basics of each activity and ensure your safety while you're having fun! All the introductory courses are very manageable for first timers too, just come with an open heart and mind and you'll be fine!
3) I can't make it for the whole duration of the camp. Is there a refund/ what should i do?
If you have a valid reason, remember to indicate in the signup form online and inform us before hand! We'll do our best to make the necessary arrangements for you to join back activities etc on a case by case basis. However, there will be NO refund of camp fees.
4) I can swim, but i don't have a swim cert. Can i still join the camp?
Due to school policies,You will need to have a swim cert (min Bronze award or level 2) to indicate that they are able to swim. Other wise, you are required to go for a Water Proficiency Test (WPT) and PASS to be able to participate in water activities such as diving and kayaking. If you have taken the WPT for sports camp and passed, there is no need to retake the WPT again, just inform us! :)
5) What happens if i cannot swim?
If you do not pass the WPT and have no swim cert, for safety reasons you will not be able to participate in all water activities.
6) Will these activities be safe?
Yes! We have safety measures in check, evacuation plans, and first aid personnel at every station and activity venue to assist you in case of emergencies. SMUX camp groups are smaller with 2 group leaders each, so they will be able to watch out for you more easily too!

An email regarding payment will be sent to your emails after application. You can choose to either do iBanking transfer, or make payment in cash at the SMUX booth (located along the slope at the SMU T-Junction)on Freshmen Experience Day which will be on 22nd June (Sunday).
